David King joined Indianapolis-based Sheaff Brock Institutional Group in February of this year as vice president of institutional distribution.

As vice president of institutional distribution, King works with institutional investors, developing strategic accounts and solutions.

Spokespeople from Sheaff Brock did not return a call for comment.

King was formerly national director of intermediary sales for New York-based First Investors Mutual Funds business at Foresters Financial for over four years. During this time, King built the wholesaling force and support staff within First Investors Funds to support broker dealers, RIAs, wealth management departments, and investment consultants. Canadian insurance giant Foresters Financial sold the First Investors Mutual Funds business last year.

Prior to his role at First Investors Mutual Funds, King was divisional vice president of AIG Annuity for nine months, based in the Tennessee and Virginia region. King was also regional vice president for Jackson National Life, Genworth Financial, and Allianz Life Financial Services.

King graduated from Southern Connecticut State University.
