Baker will work out RayJay's headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida and will report directly to
Dave Patchen, senior vice president of PCG Education and Practice Management.
Scott Curtis, president of the publicly traded broker-dealer's private client group,
confirmed the move last week.
Baker
joined Carillon Tower in April 2017 in its newly created CMO role and was responsible for driving, leading, and executing the Carillon Tower global marketing strategy for seven brands while leading a team of 40 marketing professionals across multiple departments. Word is that Baker's duties at Carillon Tower will be divided amongst her former colleagues after she shifts in September.
"Renee has been a tremendous asset for us during her time at Carillon Tower Advisers, and we are excited for her as she takes on this new opportunity. We wish her all the best, and have no doubt she will bring the same enthusiasm and success to Raymond James,"
Cooper Abbot, Carillon Tower’s president and chairman, shared with
MFWire.
Baker's new position at RayJay is newly configured to consolidate the company’s three network programs. The most recent leader of the Network for Women Advisors,
Michelle Lynch, has assumed the position of sales manager at Raymond James & Associates' eastern division. A spokesperson for RayJay declined to comment beyond the company's initial statement.
"We have experienced considerable growth and increasing interest in our Advisor Inclusion Networks. Centralizing leadership and resources supporting the networks will better leverage our progress to date and facilitate continuing to improve diversity and inclusiveness across the firm," Curtis states.
Prior to joining the Carillon Tower team in 2017, Baker worked at Aberdeen Standard Investments, Oppenheimer Funds (now Invesco), J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and BNY. She is a board member for Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA), a trustee for American Stage, and an adjunct professor of advertising management at the University of South Florida.
Baker holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Wilmington University, a Masters of Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor of Science in finance from Rutgers University.
