A former regional VP at
Columbia Threadneedle Investments [
profile],
Barry Nelson, has retired from the global asset management firm,
MFWire has learned. He was stationed in Kansas City, Missouri and ends his time with the Ameriprise company after 11 years.
While at Columbia Threadneedle, Nelson lays claim to growing 2018 market share by 25 percent and finishing 2016 with a 31 percent increase in sales, topping $500 million. A spokesperson for Columbia Threadneedle declined to comment on Nelson’s retirement.
Prior to his time at Columbia Threadneedle, Nelson worked as a regional sales director at RiverSource, which is another Ameriprise company. He also worked in national sales at Allianz Life and as a financial advisor and trader at Strong Investments.
Nelson received his CEPA from the Exit Planning Institute, a certificate in the Fundamentals of Alternative Investments from the CAIA Association, his CMFC from the College for Financial Planning, and studied marketing and marketing management at the University of Wisconsin.
