Marcia Wagner, founder of the
Wagner Law Group, recently appointed attorney
Michael Burwick to partner of the firm.
Burwick and
Stephen Wilkes (a Wagner Law Group partner since 2016) have been jointly leading the firm's investment management law practice, including tax and securities law, since Burwick joined the company about a year ago.
"We are trying to build out our investment management practice," Wagner tells
MFWire, confirming that she is planning to add more people to that area, which currently consists of four lawyers. Overall, the firm counts about 38 attorneys, 12 of which are partners.
"This is a fantastic addition," Wagner comments, "We are moving in the right direction."
Prior to joining the Wagner Law Group, Burwick worked for at the Burwick Law Group, Hunter Business Law, Day Pitney and 1031 Property Group. He also served as legal counsel at the U.S. House of Representatives and as assistant Attorney General in Florida. Michael holds a J.D. and two Masters of Law (LL.M.) in Taxation and Securities Law and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center, and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Boston University.
