Hunter Adds a Third Asset Management Recruiter

Reported by InvestmentWires Staff,

An asset management recruiter with more than 20 years of experience joined Ridgeway Partners on December 3.

Deborah Markus
Ridgeway Partners
Managing Director
Deb Markus was hired as managing director in Ridgeway’s New York office, reporting to managing partner Andy Hunter. She joins an asset management practice alongside two partners Michael Castine and Kevin McKeon as well as a supporting staff of research and associate professionals. She will provide recruiting and leadership advisory services to a network of clients across asset management firms.

"Deborah has incredible experience not only as a trusted recruiter for asset managers but working within the asset management industry directly," BJ McLaughlin, operations manager at Ridgeway Partners, tells MFWire. "Her understanding of the industry and her deep relationships within it are additive to our practice. Her track record of recruiting diverse talent in the space is something we prioritize and something our clients are eager to utilize as well."

Markus was a founding partner for ten years at Columbus Advisors, her own company, which was dissolved as she joined Ridgeway’s platform. She headed corporate development at SPM, worked in product development, marketing and sales at JPMorgan Asset Management, and started her career on the asset management team of Russell Reynolds Associates.

Markus graduated cum laude from Binghamton University with a focus in political science. She holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University with concentrations in finance and marketing. She is on the advisory board for the NYU Stern Center for Real Estate Finance, and also mentors former athletes and underprivileged college graduates looking to enter a financial services profession.
