that Argent Capital Management
is at least the seventh mutual fund firm in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Earlier this fall the Argent team converted
a small cap private fund into a mutual fund, moving
about $138 million into that new MF.

Argent's team of 30 specializes in long-term, active, U.S. equity asset management, and their offerings include dividend select, large cap growth, mid cap, and small cap core strategies. The firm launched in 1998 and is 95-percent owned by employees. John Meara
serves as Argent's president and chief investment officer, and Mark Caplinger
serves as chief operating officer.
