As Westcore Funds' parent is changing hand, a sales veteran is moving on to a top post at an industry third-party sales and marketing agency.

Today Stacy Havener, founder and CEO of Havener Capital Partners, confirms that Steve Wine is joining the Newport, Rhode Island-based firm as president. Wine most recently served as a partner and director of mutual fund sales at Westcore parent Denver Investments, which is selling to SBH in a deal expected to close next quarter.

Stacy Havener praises Wine for "his work, his style of management, and his track record of success."

"Plus, he's one of the good guys," Havener says.

Wine is an alumnus of both the University of Colorado - Boulder and the University of Colorado - Denver. He had worked at Denver and Westcore since 1988.
