A 13-year
William Blair veteran is taking over the midwestern firm's asset management arm.
Stephanie Braming will become head of William Blair Investment Management and will join Chicago-based William Blair's executive committee, William Blair president and CEO
John Ettelson confirms today. Braming succeeds
Michelle Seitz, who last month
took over Russell as CEO.
WBIM has $73.9 billion in AUM as of September 30, and the unit includes more than 330 people. Braming PMed the
William Blair International Small Cap Growth and
William Blair International Growth strategies, overseeing nearly $20 billion in assets.
Ken McAtamney will join the PM team for the International Growth strategy, alongside
Simon Fennell and
Jeff Urbina. Fennell will become a PM of the International Small Cap Growth strategy, alongside
Andy Flynn.
Ettelson praises Braming for the latter's "deep knowledge and strong understanding of [the] business."
An alumna of both DePauw University and the University of Chicago, Braming joined William Blair in 2004 after working at Mercer and at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
