Fred Axsater is creating a new key position at Wells Fargo Asset Management [profile], and he's looking for someone to fill it.

Axsater, who joined the asset manager six months ago as executive vice president and head of strategic business segments, confirms that he is on the hunt for a senior executive who can help Wells Fargo Asset Management better connect and work with other parts of the Wells Fargo, which also includes: commercial, investment, and retail banking; brokerage (both wirehouse and independent); and employer-sponsored retirement plans.

The new position will report to San Francisco-based Axsater.
