Filings For Fundsters - September 13, 2017

Launching


Highland Capital Management is developing the Highland Global Allocation Fund II, which will be PMed by James Dondero. Vendors to the fund will include: BFDS, transfer agent; State Street, custodian; Highland Capital Funds Distributor, distributor; Ropes & Gray, counsel; and KPMG, independent accounting firm.

This month PGIM Investments launched the Prudential 60/40 Allocation Fund, subadvised by Pru's QMA and PMed by Joel Kallman, Ted Lockwood, and Jeremy Stempien. Vendors to the fund include: BNY Mellon, custodian; PMFS, transfer agent; Prudential Investment Management Services, distributor; and KPMG, independent accounting firm.

American Beacon is developing the Shapiro SMID Cap Equity Fund and the Shapiro Equity Opportunities Fund, both subadvised by Shapiro Capital Management and PMed by Michael McCarthy, Harry Shapiro, Louis Shapiro, and Samuel Shapiro.

Elkhorn Investments is developing the Elkhorn Long Non-USD Currency ETF, Series 2, PMed by Ben Fulton, Derek Babb, Jordan Golz, and Jeff Wynsma. Vendors to the ETF will include: BNY Mellon, administrator, custodian, fund accounting, and transfer agent; Foreside Fund Services, distributor; Bats, principal exchange; Chapman and Cutler, legal counsel; and Grant Thornton, independent accounting firm.

Brandes Investment Partners is transforming a private fund into a mutual fund, the Brandes Small Cap Value Fund, PMed by Ralph Birchmeier, Yingbin Chen, Mark Costa, and Luiz Sauerbronn. Vendors to the fund will include: U.S. Bancorp, administrator, fund account, and transfer and dividend disbursing agent; ALPS, distributor; State Street, custodian; and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, legal counsel. No independent accounting firm has yet been named.

Nationwide is launching the Nationwide Risk-based U.S. Equity ETF, the Nationwide Risk-Based International Equity ETF, the Nationwide Maximum Diversification U.S. Core Equity ETF, the Nationwide Maximum Diversification Emerging Markets Core Equity ETF, and the Nationwide Maximum Diversification International Core Equity ETF. The two risk-based ETFs track indexes from Rothschild Risk Based Investments, while the three maximum diversification ETFs track indexes by TOBAM. All five ETFs are subadvised by Vident Investment Advisory and PMed Denise Krisko, with Rafael Zayas also PMing some and Austin Wen also PMing some. Vendors to the funds include: U.S. Bancorp, administrator, custodian, transfer agent, and index receipt agent; Quasar, distributor; Cohen & Company, independent accounting firm; and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, legal counsel.

Hartford is developing the Hartford Municipal Opportunities ETF, which will be PMed by Timothy Haney and Brad Libby, and the Hartford Schroders Tax-Award Bond ETF, which will be subadvised by Schroders and PMed by Julio Bonilla, Andrew Chorlton, Edward Jewett, Richard Rezek, and Neil Sutherland. Vendors to the funds will include: State Street, custodian and transfer agent; ALPS, distributor; Ernst & Young, independent accounting firm.

PMs


American Beacon added Ryan Thomes of Hotchkis and Wiley to the PM team for the American Beacon Small Cap Value Fund. (Hotchkis is a subadvisor to the fund.)

On September 18, BNY Mellon will add Luis Rhi as a PM on the BNY Mellon Focused Equity Opportunities Fund.

Effective September 30, Roger Young will no longer serve as a PM on the Miller/Howard Income-Equity Fund. Meanwhile, yesterday MHI Funds cut the expense ratio limits on the fund to 95 bps (for I shares) and 120 bps (for adviser shares).

On September 1, Everence Capital Management added Michael Branch as a PM on the Praxis International Index Fund, replacing Patrick Geddes.

Last month Toews added Charles Collins as a PM on the Toews Tactical Oceana Fund, the Toews Tactical Income Fund, the Toews Tactical Monument Fund, the Toews Tactical Opportunity Fund, the Toews Tactical Growth Allocation Fund, and the Toews Unconstrained Income Fund.

Effective September 28, Timothy Compan will no longer serve as a PM on the PNC Bond Fund, the PNC Government Mortgage Fund, the PNC Intermediate Bond Fund, the PNC Limited Maturity Bond Fund, the PNC Total Return Advantage Fund, and the PNC Ultra Short Bond Fund.

On September 5, Heidi Schneider became treasurer of Baird Funds, after Terrance Maxwell resigned from the position.

On August 24, Ryan Johnson became assistant treasurer of the Westcore Trust, after Jill Kerschen resigned from the position.

Liquidating


On October 25 Alger will liquidate the Alger Mid Cap Focus Fund.

On November 15, Roosevelt Investment Group will shut down the Roosevelt Multi-Cap Fund.

On October 19, Manifold Fund Advisors will liquidate the AI International Fund and the AI Large Cap Growth Fund.

Subadvisors


On September 5 Bessemer Investment Management added Baillie Gifford and Polunin Capital Partners as subadvisors to the Old Westbury Small & Mid Cap Strategies Fund.
