Allianz Global Investors [profile] has just brought on onboard a new hire to lead the sales effort for the advisory, RIA and retirement channels in the U.S.

Karen Heath-Wade has joined AllianzGI as national sales manager of retail distribution. In her role, she will report to Kate Thompson, head of US Retail Distribution. Heath-Wade joins AllianzGI from Nationwide Financial Services, where she was VP of mutual fund sales, head of distribution.

MFWire could not immediately reach a representative from Nationwide for comment on how Heath-Wade's duties are being handled.

"The US Retail market remains a key channel for AllianzGI as we look to deepen our presence in this region and sharpen our focus on growing client segments like RIAs," states Thompson. "Karen brings significant experience and a demonstrated track record of success in retail distribution to this role, and we are delighted to have her join our team."

Heath-Wade has more than two decades years of experience in the financial services industry spanning across sales leadership, business relationship management and investment strategy. Karen has a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and an M.B.A from Loyola University Chicago.
