The Money Management Institute (MMI) is changing up its conference offerings next year.

The wealth management advisory solutions and managed account industry trade group will combine its 2017 annual convention and fall solutions conference into one giant annual convention. The combined conference will be three days long (the two predecessor conferences have each been two days) and will be at the Swissotel in downtown Chicago, October 2-4, 2017.

"In the past MMI has had three big annual meetings a year": an invitation-only sales and marketing summit in February, an annual convention in the spring, and a solutions conference in the fall, Joan Lensing, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for MMI, tells MFWire. "We found that it was too much."

The shift also shifts annual awards and the Gateway to Leadership fundraising dinner where the awards are handed out. The dinner, previously part of MMI's annual convention in the spring, will now be part of the expanded annual convention in the fall.

Meanwhile, MMI will also continue to hold its members-only sales and marketing summit in February.
