Executive Vice President, Portfolio Manager
In a filing with the SEC, Mutual of America [profile] confirms that executive vice president Gary P. Wetterau died on Tuesday. Wetterau and Andrew Heiskell, also an EVP, have co-PMed the Mutual of America Bond Fund since inception 19 years ago.

Per the obituary the New York City-based insurer posted in the New York Times on Friday, Wetterau spent 20 years at Mutual of America. He was an alumnus of both the University of Arizona and the U.S. Air Force Academy, and he worked at M.D. Sass and rose to the rank of captain in the U.S. Air Force before joining Mutual of America Capital Management. The notice also describes Wetterau as "an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America."

"We will deeply miss his quiet, gentlemanly presence and extend our most sincere sympathy to his wife, Linda, their two children and family," Mutual of America's Thomas Moran, John Greed, and Amir Lear write in the notice.

Heiskell is taking over Wetterau's old duties on the fund, which has $16.9 million in AUM. Wetterau managed mortgage backed securities portfolios.
