The folks at
Cohen and Steers [
profile] are on the hunt for a new chief for a key channel.
Martha Shapiro, senior vice president and director of marketing communications, confirms that the New York City-based mutual fund shop is searching for a new DC I-O chief. Our sister publication,
401kWire, reported last month on the departure of Cohen and Steers DC I-O chief
Matt Gannon.
"We're actively pursuing a replacement," Shapiro tells
MFWire. "The DC I-O business is important to us."
Gannon
joined Cohen and Steers in December 2013, reporting to
Bob Steers (now CEO of the whole company) himself. Since then, Gannon has begun
building out Cohen and Steers' DC I-O presence.
As of July 31, Cohen and Steers had $52.0 billion in AUM. The shop started out specializing in investing in real estate.
