is handing out rewards to two long-time executives. This morning, the San Mateo, California-based firm named Jim Baio
as its new CFO and Jennifer Bolt
as its chief information officer. Both execs have been with the firm for more than a decade and each take the title of senior vice president on May 15.
Baio is currently Franklin's chief administrative officer reporting to Martin Flanagan
, co-president of Franklin Resources. A fourteen-year veteran of Franklin, he helped to coordinate and administer the fund group's investment management operations, as well as its finance, technology, risk management and legal functions. He also oversaw Franklin's corporate development and planning group. He will continue to report to Flanagan as will Bolt.
Bolt, who has been with Franklin since 1988, is now managing director of Franklin Templeton Technologies. Prior to that, she oversaw the redesign of the Franklin Web site and contributed to AdvisorCentral.com as the firm's chief Web officer. She continues to serve as chairman of Franklin Capital Corporation and Franklin Templeton Bank & Trust.
"Jim Baio and Jenny Bolt have made significant contributions to the organization over the past decade," said Charles B. Johnson, chairman and CEO of Franklin Resources. "Jim is especially strong in strategic business planning, and Jenny is a proven innovator in the technology area. Positioning these experienced leaders in their new roles is part of our strategy for maintaining the company's competitive position."
