Jeffrey Cerutti just brought a longtime
MFS veteran into a key role at
AMG Funds [
profile].
On Tuesday Cerutti, CEO of AMG Funds, confirmed the hiring of
Bill Finnegan as AMG Funds' first chief marketing officer. Finnegan most recently served as senior managing director at MFS, focused on client engagement, content marketing and marketing strategy in the global retail marketing unit.
MFS spokesman Dan Flaherty tells
MFWire that MFS execs are "assessing ... options at this time" regarding how to handle Finnegan's old duties.
At AMG Funds, Finnegan reports to Cerutti, who praises Finnegan's "proven, long-term track record in marketing, distribution and branding" and "expertise in developing successful distribution strategies and brand campaigns for the asset management marketplace." Cerutti and Finnegan put the latter's hiring in the context of efforts to boost AMG's retail presence, through AMG Funds.
Finnegan joined MFS in 1998, and prior to that he worked with New England Funds. He's an alumnus of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
