There is a new leader at Pioneer Investments.

Lisa Jones has been named Pioneer's head of the U.S., serving as president and chief executive officer of Pioneer Investment Management USA Inc..

Jones, who had previously served until 2013 as global head of distribution for Morgan Stanley Investment Management as well as president of MSIM Distribution Inc., succeeds 15-year- veteran Daniel Kingsbury, who will stay on with the firm until September 5, 2014 to assist with the transition.

The announcement comes one day after reports by WSJ and Reuters that Pioneer parent UniCredit is receiving offers from three potential buyers for 50 percent of Pioneer's assets.
