T. Michael Murphy is kicking things up for T. Rowe [ profile] in the B-D space.

Murphy has been working at T. Rowe for the past seven months as a vice president where he is helping promote relationships with financial advisors and various broker dealers.

Before that Murphy had a 14-year career at UBS [profile].

Most recently, he served as national director of unaffiliated wholesale distribution. In this role, he focused on expanding the wholesale business in the major wirehouses, private banks, and independent broker dealers across a product suite that includes mutual funds, managed accounts, and both registered and private alternative investments. He did this for nearly two years.

Before that, he was head of wholesale business development, strategy and execution for five years. In this role, he handled the development, implementation, and execution of the business development strategy within the Americas. This job included developing growth strategies, evaluating M&As and analyzing competitors.

For for years before that, Murphy was national sales manager for mutual funds at UBS, and before that, a regional wholesaler covering Maryland, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Prior to working at UBS, Murphy had held a variety of wholesaling and business development positions at PNC, Van Kampen and SEI.
