Paul Schott Stevens and his team are about to kick off the 2014 ICI GMM (Investment Company Institute General Membership Meeting).
The giant conference, this year at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., begins this afternoon with remarks from Marie Chandoha (chair of the GMM planning committee and president and CEO of Charles Schwab Investment Management [profile]), Stevens himself (president and CEO of ICI) and Larry Fink (chairman and CEO of BlackRock [profile]). Other key speakers this week will include:
Andy Sieg, managing director and head of global wealth and retirement solutions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch;
Olympia Snowe, former U.S. Senator from Maine;
Bob Vorlop, head of products and advice at Wells Fargo Advisors;
Mary Jo White, chair of the SEC; and

Entertainment will include a cook-off tonight featuring chefs Geoff Tracy, Mike Isabella and Pati Jinich and a performance tomorrow night by the touring cast of the Million Dollar Quartet musical.
