A man fired so many times that he wrote a book and launched a successful consulting career from the experiences will now handle national accounts for Hatteras.

Andrew Kilbride, a former shooting guard for the University of Washington basketball team, and author of the book A Man's Guide to Getting Fired, will now work for the firm as a senior vice president for national accounts.

According to the Amazon page for his book, Kilbride "followed a successful college and professional basketball career with a series of great jobs that ended in firings. A 2009 termination turned his life and outlook on work upside down. His mistakes and eventual revelations inspired him to write" the book.

In addition to writing the book, Kilbride ran for three years, with his wife Liz, Foster Bridge Partners, a management consulting firm the couple founded.
