We're all still reeling this week from the announced departures of
Mohamed El-Erian from Pimco and
Ron O'Hanley leaving Fidelity. What does this mean for the industry?
Have Pimco's problematic efforts to get into equities finally frustrated the higher-ups at parent
Allianz, or is
Bill Gross and team looking for new blood in their efforts to become their own empire (assuming that will ever be possible).
And with Fidelity, is Abby moving forward in her efforts to reform her father's kingdom? Will a line of succession ever be clearly communicated?
And finally, who is next? Which firm will shake up its leadership and push its chief (or chiefs) onto their sword. And with this new blood, how will the game change this year?
