SeekingAlpha kind of has a crush on Waddell & Reed.

The investor site dubs the firm as "among the top performers in the Asset Management industry group, with year-to-date gains of more than 80%."

The article drills down on Waddell's progress in the wholesale, advisors, and institutional channels, ultimately declaring that "although the mutual fund industry is losing the inflow battle to the ETF industry, Waddell & Reed has been attracting assets at a much faster pace than the overall mutual fund industry."
