Miller Binds a Top Invesco Alum to DWS

Reported by Neil Anderson, Managing Editor

Jerry Miller just brought a top Invesco alum to lead Deutsche Bank's DWS Funds [profile] team in the U.S.

Miller, head of asset and wealth management America for Deutsche, confirmed that Brian Binder now serves as president of DWS Funds and head of fund administration in the U.S. Binder most recently led business management and consulting at Invesco, after serving Van Kampen (now part of Invesco) as chief administration officer.

Invesco spokesman Bill Henself confirmed to MFWire that Binder left earlier this year and that his duties have been absorbed by other executives, so there are no plans to replace him.

At Deutsche, Binder succeeds Doug Beck, who previously served as president of DWS Funds and head of product management before joining Fidelity in October. At Deutsche Binder reports directly to Miller.

Pointing to Binder's "almost two decades of industry experience spanning operations, strategic planning and implementation," Miller praised Binder for bringing "a wealth of knowledge and insight" to the German multinational's U.S. mutual fund unit.
