The SEC will be busy this year. The ETF registrations just keeping coming.
According to
Bloomberg's Eric Balchunas, 982 ETFs are waiting to be approved by the SEC, nearly as many as approved and traded ETFs. Many of the funds are simply variations on current products, or products mimicking other managers' products.
Bloomberg decided to list the more exotic ETFs, including the
Winklevii's Bitcoin ETF. Balchunas also wrote about the
Global X Kazakhstan ETF, where the

MSCI Kazakhstan Index is up 136 percent since November 2005 and the BlackRock
iShares Human Rights Index Fund, which excludes countries with widespread death, and forced labor.
