Fundsters, you love to talk about milestones. But just how big of a deal is it that the ETF industry has $1.5 trillion in assets?

That's the question asked by IndexUniverse reporter Olly Ludwig in an article this week.

The article gives a bit of back story about the ETF industry, going all the way back to 1993.

Ludwig concludes that despite some impediments, the ETF industry is looking at a bright future, including reaching the next milestone of $2 trillion in not too long off.
