Allianz [profile] has appointed Arun Ratra to serve as head of global solutions, according to P&I.

The trade pub reports that Ratra will replace Thomas Wiesemann, who became a member of the board of management at Allianz Leben, the life insurance division of Allianz SE in Germany.

According to P&I, Ratra was head of global markets group at the Gulf Investment Corp., Kuwait, a state-owned investment company that promotes economic growth and diversification across the Gulf Cooperation Council, an organization comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, Fundweb.co.uk reports that Ratra "will be responsible for developing AllianzGI’s solutions offering, providing clients with a set of customized investment services and solutions."

Fundweb.co.uk also reports that before working at the Gulf Investment Corporation, Ratra was Credit Suisse Asset Management's CIO for multi asset class solutions following several years within the Dutch pension fund industry.
