Van Eck's [profile] Market Vectors Solar Energy ETF is switching to an in-house index, reports ETF strategy.

In March, it will adopt the Market Vectors Global Solar Energy Index, a 'pure-play index measuring the performance of the largest and most liquid companies in the global solar energy sector.

The ETF currently tracks the Ardour Solar Energy Index by Ardour Capital Investments.
