A bolstered national multimedia campaign, a vendor rating site and new platform enhancements were among the goodies unveiled by
Schwab today at the Impact 2012 Conference here in Chicago.
Schwab's multimedia campaign,“RIA Stands for You," will be given a number of enhancements, including new national advertising, an expanded consumer-facing website, investor videos, and a supporting message from Schwab founder Charles (Chuck) Schwab on the campaign website.
In 2013 Schwab will be building an Advisor Directory that investors will be able to use to locate RIAs in their communities.
In addition, there will be a new Schwab Intelligent Integration product called
MarketSquare –- a Zagat-style rating and review site where RIAs can research technology providers and read the comments and experiences of other advisors.
The goodies were noted during Schwab executive vice president and head of Schwab Advisor Services
Bernie Clark's introductory speech to the keynote presentation by X Prize founder
Peter Diamandis, who spoke on the ways to tap into disruptive opportunities related to exponential changes in technology.
It was a very space-themed presentation, with Clark comparing the best of advisors to innovators and explorers with the courage to risk it all and go their own way.
"You're at your best when you're at the edge," was among Clark's adventure-themed declarations during his speech.
Other initiatives announced included an RIA internship program, an e-learning initiative, enhancements to the advisor platform, including a new relationship with DocuSign to provide e-signature capabilities built into Schwab’s platform, and the new Schwab Advisor Center app for the iPad.
