Bill McNabb and his team may be feeling the allure of gold.
GoldETF.biz
publisher Christian Magoon suspects that
Vanguard[profile]
will soon file to launch a gold ETF.
According to Magoon, the gold ETF market "offers considerable assets,
a healthy growth rate and legacy pricing" which should appeal to
Vanguard.
Moreover, Magoon writes that "the launch of a Vanguard gold ETF appears to be an easy extension of
Vanguard’s approach in the ETF business to go after large buckets of
existing ETF assets with newly launched low cost options."
In case Vanguard decides to join the space, it would compete with the
SPDR Gold Trust,
iShares COMEX Gold Trust,
ETF
Securities Swiss Gold Shares and
ETFS Physical Asian Gold
Shares, according to Magoon.
