The Stork kicked off the week with a strong start by delivering a good amount of new funds.

Whitebox Mutual Funds [profile] filed for the Whitebox Long Short Equity Fund which looks to provide consistent returns. The fund will be managed by Andrew Redleaf, Robert Vogel, Jason Cross and Paul Karos. [SEC Filing]

Global X Funds filed for the Global X Junior MLP ETF, which aims for results that correspond to the Solactive Junior MLP Composite Index. The fund will invest the majority of its assets in this index. The fund will be advised by Global X Management Company and managed by Bruno del Ama and Jose Gonzalez. [SEC Filing]

Neuberger Berman [profile] filed for the Neuberger Berman Dynamic Real Return Fund. Thanos Bardas and Andrew Johnson will serve as the fund's PMs. [SEC Filing]

BlackRock [profile] announced in a release that it has launched the iShares U.S. High Dividend Equity Index Fund. The fund will begin trading in the Canadian marketplace on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The fund will provide investors more convenient access to U.S. companies.

"To help investors access those income-oriented performers, we have introduced the iShares U.S. High Dividend Equity Index Fund (CAD-Hedged). It offers investors higher yield and lower risk by focusing on companies that are likely to pay higher-than-average dividends for the foreseeable future," Mary Anne Wiley, managing director and head of iShares, BlackRock Canada, stated.

The Reaper oversaw the liquidation of a few funds.

Earlier today, MFWire reported that Russell Investments will be closing all but one of its ETFs. According to an SEC filing, the funds will close on October 9, 2012, and be liquidated on October 16, 2012. [SEC Filing]

Other funds are being reorganized.

AdvisorOne added Stephen Donahoe as PM to the Milestone Treasury Obligations Fund. He, as well as Marc Pfeffer and Matthew Santini will be responsible for the management of this fund. [SEC Filing]

Eagle Series Trust added a new portfolio management team to its Eagle Mid Cap Stock Fund. The management team will consist of Charles Schwartz, Betsy Pecor, and Matthew McGeary. [SEC Filing]

Walter Riddell, from Morgan Stanley Investment Management [profile], will be retiring as PM from the International Equity Team. The team is lead by William Lock and Peter Wright, and manages Global Franchise Portfolio, International Equity Portfolio, and International Value Equity Portfolio. [SEC Filing]
