Calamos Investments [profile] father and son team has brought a trio from American Independence Capital Management on board to take care of picking stocks for Calamos Value.

The value equity managers are Jeff Miller, chief strategist at AICM and American Independence Stock manager since 2007, Tammy Miller and Arile Fromer. This trio has created a stellar record for the former fund they managed with an annualized return of 3.8 percent, beating 98 percent of similar funds in the large-blend category.

John Calamos Sr. and Nick Calamos, who are co-CIOs of the firm, will still co-manage the fund with the trio, focusing more on the macro side of the fund's strategy.
