Jacobs Leaves Hatteras

After two years, Brian Jacobs is no longer leading Hatteras Funds [profile]. Founder David Perkins resumed the role of chairman and CEO of the company in mid-February. According to a release, this move "reaffirm[s] [Hatteras'] commitment and focus on providing financial advisers and their clients with alternative investment solutions across the liquidity spectrum."

In a phone interview, Jacobs said he was originally brought on as CEO of Hatteras "with a specific purpose to build the company in key areas," which he felt he had achieved. He originally consulted for Hatteras in early 2010 before joining the company as its CEO.

"[My departure] was straightforward and well planned out," Jacobs said.

Currently, Jacobs is consulting via Jacobs Strategic Consulting, LLC, specializing in alternative strategies, distribution and ETFs.
