Jeff Carney is leaving
Putnam [
profile] for
Schwab.
Mike Cianfrocca, a spokesman for Schwab, confirmed to
The MFWire that Carney will join at the end of March as head of Schwab's retail branch network, reporting to
Andy Gill executive vice president and co-head of Schwab Investor Services.
A spokesman for Putnam told
MFWire.com that the firm has "nothing to confirm or share."
A Fidelity veteran like Putnam chief
Bob Reynolds, Carney served as president of retirement and global wealth & investment management client solutions at Bank of America before joining Reynolds' team at Putnam in October 2008 as a senior managing director, reporting directly to Reynolds [
see MFWire.com, 10/9/2008].
Carney started out overseeing Putnam's defined contribution business, global product management, public and government relations, global marketing and marketing communications. Then a year ago Carney's role shifted to focus solely on products and global marketing, with DC chief
Ed Murphy now reporting directly to Reynolds [
see our sister publication, The 401kWire, 3/23/2011].
