WisdomTree Investments (WETF on the Nasdaq) [
profile] had a rough Monday. The New York City-based exchange-traded fund provider released its fourth quarter 2011 earnings report yesterday [
see MFWire.com, 1/30/2012], and its shares dipped more than 13 percent before ending the day at $5.75, down 8.73 percent. The Nasdaq dipped 0.16 percent.
Murray Coleman from
Barron's picked up WisdomTree's pain, noting that the ETF specialists' earnings showing a drop in net inflows last year. Aside from this, the ETF provider also saw a year-over-year drop in its ETF market share, in terms of net inflows, and
a decrease in their assets under management.
WisdomTree earned $0.01 per share in Q4 2011, in line with analysts' estimates.
