Fundsters intererested in Allianz's move this week handing international distributions of Pimco's mutual fund over to Pimco [see MFWire.com, 9/6/2011] may want to read yesterday's "Fund Times" column. Morningstar highlights the move, noting that Pimco's equity funds in Europe "have grown almost a hundredfold" since Pimco launched them in the spring of last year.

"The move is driven more by business than investor interests," Morningstar writes.
