WisdomTree [see profile]
is about to leave the Pink Sheets. This spring the New York-based ETF provider filed with the SEC to join an unnamed "national securities exchange" [see The MFWire, 4/1/2011
], and today WisdomTree confirmed that it plans to join the Nasdaq Global Market
on July 26. It will also change tickers, from WSDT to WETF.
Fundsters may not be surprised by the move, as this is not WisdomTree's first attempt at moving onto the Nasdaq. In May 2007, the fundamental indexer promised
to list on the Nasdaq by the end of 2007, yet that plan fell through.
WisdomTree launched its first ETFs five years ago. It now boasts 47 ETFs and manages about $13.1 billion in assets.
