Fundsters may not be surprised to hear that BlackRock's iShares [see profile], the largest ETF provider, is number one in advisors' eyes in another way. Today Horsesmouth and kasina revealed results from their joint-FA Vision service's ETF survey, in which advisors ranked iShares at the top of all four support categories: best wholesalers, best educational programs and support, best marketing support and best website.

iShares also issued its own release about the results.

"Clearly, advisors' positive perceptions of iShares reflects its position as the market leader," stated Hari Krishnaswami, FA Vision product manager.

Other top-ranked ETF providers included some of the usual suspects, like State Street Global Advisors [see profile], Vanguard [see profile] and PowerShares [see profile]. Yet Krishnasawmi noted First Trust [see profile], which is not a top-ten provider, as the real surprise on the list, coming in third for wholesalers, third for educational programs and support, and fourth for marketing support.
