Rainier Names its New CEO

Rainier Investment Management, Inc. has promoted Jim Ridgeway to acting president and chief executive officer, replacing Len Brennan, who has resigned from his post. And Rainier also named its new distribution chief.

Ridgeway joined Rainier in 2005 as the director of sales and client service for the firm’s Taft-Hartley client services team. He previously worked at Columbia Management Company and Quest Investment Management.

"We thank Len for his corporate leadership and service during the previous five years, and we wish his continued success in future endeavors," said the firm.

Rainier has also promoted Kurt Polk, to global head of distribution. This is a new position for Rainier. Polk joined Rainier in 2002 and previously led the institutional sales and client service team.
Rainier Investment Management, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Jim Ridgeway to Acting President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Ridgeway joined Rainier in 2005 as the Director of Sales and Client Service for the firm’s Taft-Hartley Client Services Team. Jim has been active in the institutional investment management business for 16 years, with previous positions at Columbia Management Company and Quest Investment Management. Mr. Ridgeway is an active member of Rainier’s Board of Directors.

Regretfully, Len Brennan has resigned from his role as President and CEO. We thank Len for his corporate leadership and service during the previous five years, and we wish his continued success in future endeavors. Rainier is also pleased to announce the promotion of Kurt A. Polk, CFA, to Global Head of Distribution. This is a new position for Rainier as we continue to focus on providing a consistently high level of service and attention to our over 180 institutional clients and financial intermediary relationships. Kurt joined Rainier in 2002 and previously led the institutional sales and client service team. He manages our New York City office and is an active member of Rainier’s Board of Directors. Prior to entering the investment management business in 1998, Kurt was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.

The investment team, philosophy and process continue to be led by James Margard, CFA, Chief Investment Officer and Chairman of the Rainier Board of Directors.
