Industry insiders may not be surprised to hear that a two-star 
Ivy Funds [

into a three-star one. On March 1 the mutual fund firm revealed in a filing [

filing] that it plans to have the $916.35 milliion 
Ivy Large Cap Growth 
Fund swallow the $585.47 million 
Ivy Capital Appreciation Fund.
Ivy plans to shutter Capital Appreciation to new investors on May 13 and then to 
existing shareholders on June 8, in preparation for the fund merger itself around 
June 10. Capital Appreciation offers A, B, C, E, I and Y shares.
