MarketWatch columnist Chuck Jaffe sees similarities between the mutual fund world and TV shows like "Dancing with the Stars" and "America's Got Talent."

"The search for the "next great fund manager," likewise, is a never-ending reality show that periodically should get investors excited," Jaffe writes in his column.

He features the latest "contestant," ex-Fairholme PMs Larry Pitkowsky and Keith Trauner, who have started their own firm, GoodHaven Capital Management. Pitkowsky and Trauner plan to debut their fund in the second quarter.
