Bruce Berkowitz Fairholme Capital Management Founder and Portfolio Manager

An advertisement from Fairholme Capital's Bruce Berkowitz [see profile] has caught the eye of WSJ Deal Journal's Shira Ovide.

The star mutual fund manager "took out an unusual ad today in several newspapers, to brag about returns at his Fairholme funds, and to circulate hosannas for the government’s efforts to prop up financial institutions," writes Ovide in the Deal Journal blog last Friday.

Never before has Berkowitz come out with such a message, Ovide notes.
