Manulife Asset Management
, which until yesterday was called MFC Global Investment Management
, has inked a deal to acquire Optique Capital Management
's investment management business.
] Milwaukee-based Optique is the investment adviser to the $2.5 million Optique International
and also manages money for foundations, endowments and high-net-worth individuals.
As part of the agreement, it is proposed that the mutual fund be adopted by Manulife Asset Management affiliate
John Hancock Funds
, according to the SEC filing. The Optique fund will be reorganized into a new fund to be called John Hancock International Value Equity Fund
This would be John Hancock Funds' 12th adoption.
Optique's chief investment officer, Wendell Perkins
, could not immediately be reached for comment. A Hancock spokesperson declined to comment.
