Mellody Hobson Ariel Investments President

Mellody Hobson, president of Chicago-based mutual fund firm Ariel Investments [see profile] is no longer a co-chair of Rahm Emanuel's mayoral campaign, reports the Chicago Tribune's Melissa Harris. Hobson left the co-chair role due to a conflict-of-interest concern raised by TV network ABC.

"ABC felt there was a conflict with my role on 'Good Morning America,'" the Tribune quotes Hobson as saying. Hobson regularly appears on the morning show as a financial contributor.
