Bruce Berkowitz Fairholme Capital Management Founder and Portfolio Manager

It's been a good year for the slick-backed Bruce Berkowitz: he won Morningstar's Fund Manager of the Year Award for 2009 in the domestic stock category, then a week later took home the Manager of the Decade Award. His stock-picking follows a strategy derived from Warren Buffet and that investing success also has landed Fairholme [see profile] into the top 100 fund shops despite it having just one fund.

Now Berkowitz is taking steps to turn his success into a bonafide fund complex with the launch of a bond fund that he promises will mimic the strategy of his stock fund. Most recently he added a third fund that combines both stocks and bonds in one wrapper.
