Beantown Recruiters Knab a Fido Exec

A Fidelity executive just joined a recruiting firm. Today Egon Zehnder confirmed that John Knapp just took over its New England asset management practice (which is part of US financial services).

An Accenture alum, Knapp most recently served as vice president of wealth management solutions at Fidelity. (He also worked in marketing and product management in the personal and workplace investment and institutional wealth services arms of Fidelity.)

Boston, MA, October 25, 2010  – John F. Knapp has joined Egon Zehnder International as head of the firm’s New England Asset Management practice and core member of the firms US Financial Services team, it was announced today by James Satterthwaite, Partner and head of the firm’s Boston office.

  With more than 17 years of consulting, marketing and product management experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Knapp joins Egon Zehnder from Fidelity Investments where he was Vice President, Wealth Management Solutions.  He previously held several senior marketing and product management positions across Fidelity’s Personal and Workplace Investment and Institutional Wealth Services businesses. Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Knapp worked for Accenture in New York City focusing on Fortune 100 Financial Services organizations as a Senior Manager for the Strategy and Business Architecture practice. 

  “John’s superior expertise in and knowledge of wealth management will further enhance Egon Zehnder’s existing capabilities as we search for the best in class talent to bring to our clients,” said Satterthwaite.

  A native of the Boston area, Mr. Knapp attended Dartmouth College, where he earned an undergraduate degree in Government.  He received his MBA from Columbia University in 2000.  John and his wife Liza currently reside in Wayland, Massachusetts with their three children.
