Jonathan Steinberg and co. at WisdomTree Investments [see profile] are pleased with the market reception to the WisdomTree Emerging Markets Local Debt Fund (ELD). Less than two weeks after its launch, the product has attracted more than $166 million of assets, reports IndexUniverse.

"This is the most successful initial launch we've ever had," Steinberg told the pub.

IndexUniverse points out that the WisdomTree product has taken in nearly four times the assets attracted by Van Eck's Market Vectors Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond ETF (EMLC) in the first month of its existence. The Van Eck product lured in $41.1 million in the month since its rollout.

That, the pub notes, is "an impressive figure in its own right, also reflective of how excited investors are by this new ETF emerging markets product idea."
