T. Rowe Price has purchased Guided Selling Lifecycle Solutions software from Active Decisions. It will be used by its representatives to help clients select T. Rowe Price mutual funds.

The Active Decisions application will be used to expand the company's investment guidance services by helping investors make better investment decisions based on their needs. The application will be built, leveraging the powerful Active Enterprise Platform, by Active Decisions' professional services team.

"Many investors indicate an interest in more direct guidance when choosing a mutual fund for their investment needs," stated Joseph Healy, vice president and manager of advisory and wealth management marketing, at the firm. "As part of our ongoing commitment to providing world class guidance and service, we will use the Active Decisions application to assist investors who seek help in choosing a T. Rowe Price mutual fund. It enables T. Rowe Price to meet an emerging need in a manner which ensures our quality standards are maintained."

Additional online education modules will be added over time, with one more series of modules planned for 2002. As new modules are added, the existing modules will remain available as part of the Financial Education Basics library that users can continue to access over time.
