New York Life has entered into an agreement with Upromise for its 529 plan offering, a spokesperson with the firm told the MutualFundWire.com. Upromise is a web-based service that offers discounts from a number of different companies that can be used toward college savings.

New York Life's 529 service, CollegeSense, is offered in conjunction with Schoolhouse Capital. The plan is administered for the State of New Mexico.

"Any CollegeSense client can sign on for Upromise and vice versa," the spokesperson reported.
