Like the Energizer Bunny, the Enron story just will not quit. Ellen Schultz has penned another article for The Wall Street Journal looking at the blackout period when the sponsor changed vendors. The author goes onto to examine the potential hazards of blackout periods for sponsors, especially those that have company stock in their plans. American Express Funds filed a proxy yesterday with the Securities and Exchange Commission for shareholder approval so that the firm may hire subadvisers to manage the assets of AXP Discovery and AXP Progressive. New investors will no longer be able to invest in either fund after March 8, 2002.
