His arrival at Scout comes two months after UMB Financial restructured its asset management business. Under the reorganization, Scout Investment Advisors, which been a subsidiary of UMB Bank, became a unit of UMB Financial.
Wiesenfeld reports directly to chairman and CEO Clyde Wendel, according to a company insider.
Previously, Wiesenfeld served as Thornburg Investment Management's chief compliance officer. A Thornburg spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment on how his former duties are being handled.
